In 35+ years since I first stepped into BigLaw, the legal industry has changed drastically and I’ve embraced that change and sought to contribute in meaningful, profound ways. An advocate and leader for modernization and systemic improvements of operations and legal service delivery, I led the integration of project management into legal services, helping create what is known today as legal project management. I also pioneered the adoption of lean six sigma by bringing process engineering and excellence into the practice and business of law.
In 2018, I took an entrepreneurial leap and co-founded Bold Duck Studio to bring my expertise and experience in designing new and improved service models to the broader industry alongside my co-founder, Josh Kubicki. Together, we have created the first business design agency specifically focused on the commercial legal market. We have worked with some of the world’s largest and most notable brands as well as some of the scrappiest non-profits and small businesses.
Kim is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Richmond School of Law, a Certified Project Management Professional (PMI), Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering) and a Certified Scrum Master and Product Owner.
